Dr Matsumoto is a partner at Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, a single specialty rheumatology practice located in Washington DC, suburban Maryland and Fairfax, VA. The practice currently has seven offices, 23 full-time physicians and two advanced practice providers. It offers in-office physical therapy, digital X-ray, musculoskeletal ultrasound, laboratory, physical therapy, clinical trials and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). Dr Matsumoto serves on the executive committee of the practice and is also responsible for the practice’s electronic health record, clinical laboratory and quality reporting. He is active in the clinical research department and has an interest in new agents for rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and osteoarthritis.

Prior to joining Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, Dr Matsumoto was on the full-time faculty at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD for nine years and remains on the part-time faculty.
