Dr. Diane Horowitz is an Associate Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and serves as Director of the Rheumatoid Arthritis Center at Northwell Health in New York. For over 15 years, her research has focused on rheumatoid arthritis, leading to her involvement in numerous government-funded and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
An expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided synovial biopsy (UGSB), Dr. Horowitz is a founding member of the UGSBY Group, dedicated to advancing UGSB techniques. She has been instrumental in training rheumatologists across North America in this procedure, significantly broadening the clinical and research applications of synovial tissue analysis in the field.
Dr. Horowitz’s training includes a BA in Biology/Computational Biology from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an MD from the Renaissance School of Medicine at SUNY Stony Brook.
She completed her internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center/New York Medical College in New York City and her Rheumatology fellowship at North Shore-LIJ Medical Center (now Northwell Health).
