Dr Narain is Assistant Professor of Medicine, Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, New York City, NY. She graduated from medical school at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Balagangadharanatha Nagara, India and received her MPH from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Dr Narain is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Metrowest Medical Center, Framingham Union Hospital, Framingham, MA in 2012 and her fellowship in rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery (affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine), New York City, NY in 2015.

Dr Narain’s research interests are in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjögren’s syndrome and systemic sclerosis, including pathophysiology and clinical aspects of disease. During her fellowship, Dr Narain’s research focused on characterizing the role of S1P dysregulation as a pathogenic factor in vascular injury in SLE. This proposal was awarded funding through the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program in 2014. She has authored several papers and textbook chapters and has presented at national meetings in the USA.
